It's known. Our skype meetings always end with a general madness, just as yesterday evening.

At about Midnight, when us of the UID Group were chatting, laughing and joking, we got the news: Michael Jackson is dead.

At the beginning we didn't believe to this and we didn't take it seriously, also because websites like Ansa.it were talking about a hospitalization.
Than i wrote to a friend of mine called Rain that lives in NYC. She knew about a coma, nothing more.
So we start looking for news, because even if we are not fans we know his songs and through his music we loved him at least a little.
A few minutes later here it is. The official news came from CNN's straming channel.
I didn't feel the after-effect but I'm like this. I always react in delay to this things but now, thinking to his death, im so sad.
I grew up with his music. when i was young my father always made me listen to Billie Jean and i remember that i loved jumping and dancing on the sofa.
Even for my 11th Birthday i had for present one of his cassettes ( Oh yeah! There still were cassettes ) that i preserve and that works prefectly.
There's not only the pain for the missing of a myth. There's a deep thought behind. About a piece of history that disappears, about a life believing that our myths were immortals. And by the way it will be like this.

Si sa, le nostre riunioni su skype finiscono sempre nel delirio più totale, proprio come ieri sera.

Intorno alla mezzanotte mentre noi del UID eravamo in chat a ridere e a scherzare ci arriva la notizia: Michael Jackson è morto.

In un primo momento non ci crediamo molto e la prendiamo a ridere, anche perchè siti come ansa.it parlavano di un ricovero.
Successivamente contatto la mia amica Rain che sta a New York e anche da loro parlano di un coma ma niente di più.
Tutti ci attiviamo per sapere, perchè infondo anche se non siamo dei fans accaniti, tutti conosciamo le sue canzoni e attraverso la sua musica tutti lo abbiamo amato almeno un po’.
Qualche minuto più avanti ecco la notizia ufficiale che ci arriva dalla CNN in streaming.
Non ho subito accusato il colpo, beh io sono così reagisco tardi a queste cose ma ora che ci penso mi dispiace moltissimo.
Ci sono cresciuta con la sua musica.. mio padre quando ero piccola mi faceva sempre ascoltare billie jean e io saltellavo sul divano per ballare. Addirittura per il mio 11esimo compleanno mi feci regalare una sua cassetta (eh si c’erano ancora le cassette) che ancora conservo ed ancora si sente benissimo.
Non c’è solo il dolore per la scomparsa di un mito. C’è dietro tutta una profonda riflessione su un pezzo di storia che se ne va, su una vita passata credendo che i nostri miti siano immortali… e forse infondo sarà così.
